Costs at the transaction
Local acquisition tax, a percentage of the higher of the sale price and the tax valuation; the rate is set by the municipality (usually 0.1–3%).
A notary fee per the notarial tariff, calculated on the transaction value.
A registration fee for entry in the Property Register (Registry Agency).
Who pays what
By law the acquisition tax is paid by the buyer, unless the parties agree otherwise. The notary and registration fees are often split or specified in the contract.
Annual taxes after purchase
Every year you owe the property tax and the waste-collection fee to the municipality. The amount depends on the tax valuation and the settlement.
